Recurring Payment

Led the development of a recurring payment feature to improve user experience and reduce late payment penalties on the Kreditplus Mobile app. This feature allows users to set a custom debit schedule, choosing the exact date and preferred card for each agreement, and ensuring they never miss a payment. By giving users more control and flexibility, the initiative aimed to reduce friction, lower delinquency rates, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.

Challenge

Migrating our recurring-payment integration from an in-house flow to AyoConnect’s BRI Direct Debit required unifying two distinct user journeys—card binding and payment scheduling—into a seamless experience. We needed to expose a clear, discoverable “Direct Debit” option in the payment method screen, then let users both bind their BRI debit card and configure a custom debit schedule without confusion or additional support tickets.

Results

We successfully launched a recurring payment feature tailored to existing users, allowing for seamless card binding and payment scheduling through BRI Direct Debit. The new flow provided users with transparent options to set payment dates and receive real-time status notifications. Within the first 2 months, recurring payment adoption reached 35% of total installment transactions, aligning with the phase 1 success metrics. The feature also contributed to early reductions in failed payment rates (FPD) and improved customer convenience, supporting long-term retention goals.

Process

Vendor Research & Evaluation: We began by exploring third-party providers to support recurring payments. After comparing multiple vendors, we selected Ayoconnect for its robust BRI Direct Debit integration and regulatory compliance.

Initiation & Cost Negotiation: We held a series of discussions with Ayoconnect to align on integration scope, SLA, and pricing structure. Once both teams were aligned on business and technical terms, we finalized the partnership.

Flow Redesign & Feature Planning: With the vendor confirmed, we defined the new recurring payment experience, consolidating card binding and payment scheduling into a seamless journey. We also planned clear entry points in the payment screen to make the feature discoverable.

Technical Development: Our team integrated Ayoconnect’s APIs into the CreditPlus Mobile App, including setting up secure token-based card binding, dynamic payment date configuration, and automated debiting tied to active contracts.

Testing & QA: We conducted internal QA and UAT across multiple user scenarios to ensure correct binding behavior, accurate payment triggers, and fallback handling for expired cards or inactive contracts.

Release & Monitoring: The feature was rolled out gradually to eligible users. We tracked adoption, success rates, and user drop-off points through analytics dashboards to monitor performance and guide future optimization.

Conclusion

The recurring payment feature provided users with a flexible, automated way to manage monthly bill payments—significantly reducing late fees and improving satisfaction. The integration with Ayoconnect enabled seamless BRI Direct Debit scheduling, and adoption hit 35% of active users within 2 months. The project not only aligned with business goals to lower FPD but also enhanced our customer experience by reducing friction and support volume.
